This Mono-Shaft, Cut-Resistant, Padlock for pistol & rifle cases by CEDAR MILL is great. Because it is constructed with a single, straight, secure shaft, it is specifically designed for gun cases. No curved shaft as on a regular padlock, making it difficult to use. PLUS, this lock has been approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) an agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for air travel in the United States & beyond. When in use, there is very little of the MonoShaft visible, thus protecting your valuables from a bolt cutter theft. The lock has a 3 digit numerical combination, that you choose, to set up the lock. The combination can be set and reset an infinite number of times granting complete security. Measuring just 3.9" x 0.95" x 1.05" permits you to store these locks just about any place (i.e. luggage, carry-on, glove box or console of your car, or even your pockets) when not in use. Not just any lock can be used to transport a locked firearm on public transportation in the U.S. but this one will keep you out-of-trouble with the TSA and Airport Authority. I really like the size, simplicity and various colors that it is available in. A silicone plastic sleeve encompasses that lock so that it will not scratch or mar surfaces and is easily visible in the various colors for airport inspection. The 3-digit combination allows you to pop it open quickly for a TSA inspection. It's airline-compliant status is visible with the travel sentry red diamond logo indicating that the lock can be opened by security personnel for inspection during air travel. One of the features that I like is its versatility in that it can be used on other luggage, suitcases, travel bags, etc, NOT JUST FOR FIREARMS! Smart looking, you could use this to lock up valuables (i.e. money, jewelry, ammunition) to carry in your vehicle over land or simply using at home as an extra measure of security. AND, this lock is child-safe! The 3-digit combination is set up very easily. On the side you will need a sharply pointed object to depress the reset button. Once you've done that you simply set the 3-digits that you want and then depress the lock button and the reset button will pop up and you are finished. Your new code is confirmed! It is truly that easy. This lock, and it's multiple features, is exactly what I was seeking. I'm so glad that I was able to find it at AMAZON. I definitely award a full FIVE STARS to this MonoShaft padlock by CEDAR MILL!

Locks Met TSA Lock requirements
They worked and I had no TSA requirement issues flying with a Firearm, on a recent Trip. They are easy to set up and use. Would buy them again for a case if needed.

So difficult to read the dials!
Nearly impossible to read the dials. I’m not sure if it’s because of the engraving or the glare because the metal is just too shiny but omg it’s so hard to see. Will keep them but beware if you have trouble with vision.
