Pick & Pluck Pistol Case

After prolonged research, I decided on the Cedar MIll case for my needs. Super fast shipping. Well constructed case and easy to fit your particular gun with the "pick & Pluck" foam. I'll keep using these for any new pieces I pick up without a factory box.

There was enough room in the case to hold a 9mm S&W Shield EZ handgun, 2 magazines, speedloader and a small bottle of oil. The foam inserts were perforated to allow you to create and shape around the gun to fit more deeply. Case is not super high quality plastic but it does the job and isn't too thick so it can still fit securely in my safe. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I ordered air force gray and I received a tan/beige version instead but decided it wasn't worth the effort to send back for the right one.

The product works as it should. There are several layers of foam, which is nice. The main issue is that occasionally the slide lock on either side might bind up a little bit. It's not too bad and you can push it free, but it lacks that premium feel; for the price it's OK for sure.

Aug 2020 update: This was brought to my attention last week - make sure your lock doesn't allow the case to be opened from the side. I had a luggage lock on one side and one could still open the case from the opposite side (see photos). I moved the lock to the handle to see if that worked better, and it did, as long as the lock was in the middle of the handle. No gripes with the case though, it has held up well these past four years. Just make sure you choose the appropriate lock (or two). Original 2016 review: The case is sturdy and it was easy to remove the foam to the desired shape. Note that this case only comes with two layers of foam - the egg crate layer for the top and the pick & pluck layer for the bottom. I ended up trimming the foam down instead of fully removing the blocks so the contents wouldn't touch the bottom of the case. I asked the seller if they would include a separate bottom layer in the future, and they said they would discuss it with the factory and try to include it in next year's update. I gave the product five stars because the seller was very quick to respond to my messages and they assisted in every way possible. I'm truly satisfied with my purchase and hope the case lasts for years to come.

It's an overpriced piece of foam that fits their cases.

I took a chance and ordered this to replaced the pluck n place foam that I no longer like the configuration of and my Glock17 with 2 extra mags fit perfectly. I liked it so much that I ordered another cedar mill case with the Glock configuration for my Glock22 which also fit perfectly.

The case is great. The only issue I have is with the video that is part of their Amazon advertisement, which resulted in me reducing the rating by one star. The video shows a TSA approved lock, of which the only manufacturer I can find is Nanuk. I purchased two cases and four locks (2 for each case) as I am traveling soon and intend to take my pistols. The Nanuk TSA locks, like the ones shown in the video DO NOT work with these cases - the pin is not long enough to enable you to lock the locks. Do not purchase the Nanuk TSA locks as shown in the video for this gun case. Unfortunately, Cedar Mills does not have the locks available anywhere.

Very sturdy, very nice size, can fit a Glock19x 3 extra mags with it not being in the pistol and 2 co2 cartridges a Allen wrench for the mags so co2 can go in them and a mag speed loader. It can fit all of that compared my other case that's not as good and looks the exact same size!!!

I like this case. I didn't want to spend a lot on a case and didn't need anything fancy. It's just to travel to the range with a 22LR pistol. It holds that and 2 magazines very nicely. You pick the small pre-cut foam pieces to the size you need. It closes solidly and stays closed. There is a hole for my lock. It does what it says it will at a great value. If I had a very expensive firearm and were going to travel a lot with it, I would upgrade to something sturdier. But this fit my needs perfectly, hence the 5 stars.

This protective case is very well made and is perfect for carrying one or two handguns. I use it for my 38 special for transport to the range. It is well padded and the latches do their job.

I have declared my firearm in a pelican for a long time. I wish i would've switched to this a long time ago! I got two small master lock shackles and this thing with my Glock 43x, box of ammo, and magazine was very compact in my checked bag. Much lighter than the pelican!! If someone REALLY wanted to get in the box, they could probably pry and break the plastic but it is durable.
