does the job
it works fine and was easy to take out the foam to the shape of my firearm. however the foam starts shifting and compressing over time and needs more density.

Once received we realized the best thing to do is NOT cut out around the piece to protect rather press in place add what ever and close the lid - No rattle - no swish swash - all good

TSA approval is arbitrary if you wanto to check this at the airport
i won't know if the TSA approves until I take a trip. I've heard that the decision is made on the spot, arbitrarily, rather than based on mfct and model and TSA approved lock, but that's our government in 2018,. The case itself is pretty lightweight but the handgun I keep in it is also pretty small (.380). It might not carry a 44 mag so easily.

Sturdy, Not Fancy
The Cedar Mill Firearms case was perfect for the job. Sturdy, easily lockable,and commodious enough for a large frame .357 magnum, but small enough to be placed in checked luggage.
